The tour takes place in the Langhe and Roero, among vineyards, hilltop villages, and panoramic trails. The walks include areas around Barolo and Roero, plus highly characteristic nature routes. The region is rich in wineries, woods, hazelnut groves, and historic villages to explore at a slow pace.

The weekend lasts 3 days, with a schedule including overnight stays, walks, and tastings. Activities are spread over three days to keep the pace relaxed and truly “slow”. Walking maps are provided and can be followed independently via an app.

TO BE ADDED

TO BE ADDED

Transportation is not included: getting to the trekking starting points is the participants’ responsibility. You can add a transfer service as an extra, as well as any necessary rides during the weekend. The treks are designed to be done independently and reached with your own vehicle.

All our tours are organized on request, on the date you choose and for the number of participants indicated. After your request, we check availability and send you a detailed quote. To confirm, you simply pay a 30% deposit (the balance is due 15 days before departure). If your date is very close, we may ask for full payment. We accept bank transfer, credit card, or Satispay. Every quote has a clear expiration date.

SlowDays communicates mainly by email. It’s the best way to reply clearly, neatly, and quickly to each request. Write to claudia@slowdays.it or fill in the form on the tour page: we’ll get back to you soon. That way, everything we discuss stays written down and easy to review for everyone. If a call becomes necessary, we’ll evaluate it later if needed. We prefer this approach because it helps us manage timing, quotes, and information properly, ensuring a more accurate service for everyone.

Tour details are shared after confirmation and payment. SlowDays isn’t a third-party portal: we personally organize each package, choosing partners case by case for style, quality, and availability. Since 2016 we’ve worked with a network of trusted suppliers and happy clients. Reviews will tell you more about us.

If you have specific preferences, share them right away and we’ll evaluate options or similar alternatives.

If the weather is bad or uncertain, SlowDays will agree with you on a Plan B so the day stays enjoyable.
Depending on the tour type and the occasion, we can reschedule, adapt, or adjust the experience, always trying to keep the spirit and your goal intact.
Specific options may vary based on the event or package chosen.

Our prices don’t officially change between high and low season: we keep the same reference rates all year.
However, it’s good to know that in fall—peak season in the Langhe—some accommodations or services may apply increases, and we must align with them. Booking well in advance is always a smart idea! Also, because each quote is tailored, there may be small price variations depending on the available partners at the time of confirmation. We always aim for the best balance between quality, availability, and value 🌿

When you submit your request, you can ask to personalize your tour:

  • Your preferred schedule
  • Add or replace an experience: dinner, aperitivo, an overnight stay, a cake, one of the many activities you’ll find on our site and in other tours. We’ll evaluate together based on availability, timing, and the organization of the day.
  • Add a transfer service

What to see in the Roero?

You’ll immediately notice the landscape is wilder, with stronger contrasts: vineyards, but also orchards, woods, and the Rocche. The Roero area is loved because it lets you walk for long stretches through still-untouched places, with forest passages where birds are the only sound. The rocky formations—the Rocche del Roero—appear in many areas and create dynamic scenery. The Sommariva Perno and Monteu Roero area, or the Magliano and Castellinaldo area: many Roero trails follow and cross the Rocche.

Its wines are just as impressive: Roero, with its beautiful ruby color and bold, aromatic flavor. And the whites are excellent too, such as Arneis and Favorita. Beyond wine, fruit is a key part of the Roero economy: strawberries, peaches, plums, pears… including the Madernassa pear, which is even DOP and recognized by Slow Food.

What to see in Guarene?

Guarene is part of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy circuit thanks to its well-preserved heritage—both urban and architectural. In recent years, a very careful local policy has enhanced and promoted the area. In the historic center you’ll find three buildings protected by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage: the Church of the Most Holy Annunciation, Palazzo Re Rebaudengo, and the Castle of Guarene. In recent years Guarene has also positioned itself as a cultural hub for Roero events, hosting internationally renowned artists. A beautiful open-air exhibition, with fixed or temporary installations, colors and marks the beginning of a walk with views toward the Castle.

  • Castle of Guarene: The Castle of Guarene is without doubt a magnificent manor that dominates and watches over this small village. This majestic 18th-century building is surrounded by a spectacular park and is a testament to Baroque architecture. Today it is a 5-star hotel, frequented by celebrities who arrive discreetly.
  • Church of San Michele: This historic church is another jewel of Guarene. Dating back to the 13th century, it has an elegant façade and a richly decorated interior with sacred artworks.
  • Historic Center: For a picturesque stroll, wander through the streets of Guarene’s old town. You’ll find ancient stone houses, charming shops, and a pleasant traditional atmosphere.
