This trip is for anyone who wants to explore the Langhe on foot without taking on a demanding point-to-point journey. You stay in the same accommodation and drive to the starting point of each walk; on the trail, you follow the routes provided by SlowDays at your own pace.
The 3-day, 2-night package includes two walks, one in the Barolo area and one in Roero. The shorter 2-day, 1-night package focuses on the Barolo area. In both cases, we arrange your accommodation and food and wine stops, leaving you free to walk at your own pace.

Information for all packages
The tour takes place in the Langhe and Roero, among vineyards, villages and scenic trails. The walks cover the Barolo and Roero areas and distinctive natural routes. The region is rich in wineries, woods, hazelnut groves and historic villages to explore at a leisurely pace.
The duration depends on the package: 3 days and 2 nights for Package A; 2 days and 1 night for Package B. Activities are planned at a comfortable pace, and you follow the walking routes independently using the app.
The tour is organised for a minimum of 2 people. For larger groups, we check availability and find the most suitable accommodation.
The final itinerary sets the times according to your package and the availability of accommodation, osterias and wineries.
Transport is not included: participants arrange their own travel to the starting points of the walks. A transfer service can be added as an extra, as can any other travel needed during the weekend. The walks are designed to be self-guided and reached in your own vehicle.

What can you see in Roero?
The landscapes are wilder and the colours more contrasting, with vineyards as well as orchards, woods and the Rocche. The Roero region is a lovely place for long walks through still-unspoilt areas and quiet woodland where birdsong is the only sound. The striking rock formations known as the Rocche del Roero appear in many places and shape the scenery. Many Roero trails cross the Rocche around Sommariva Perno, Monteu Roero, Magliano and Castellinaldo.
Roero’s wines are equally appealing, including Roero red with its beautiful ruby colour and bold, aromatic flavour. The local white wines, such as Arneis and Favorita, are also excellent. Fruit is another important part of the region’s economy: strawberries, peaches, plums, pears and the Madernassa pear, which even has a protected designation and a Slow Food mention.
What can you see in Guarene?
Guarene belongs to the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy network thanks to its well-preserved townscape and architecture. In recent years, local initiatives have helped promote and enhance the area. In the historic centre, you will find three buildings protected by the Ministry of Culture: the Church of the Santissima Annunziata, Palazzo Re Rebaudengo and Guarene Castle. Guarene has also hosted cultural events in Roero, including appearances by internationally known artists. Outdoor art installations, both permanent and temporary, brighten the start of a walk with views of the castle.
- Guarene Castle: This magnificent 18th-century castle overlooks the village. Surrounded by a beautiful park, it is a fine example of Baroque architecture. Today it is a five-star hotel frequented by guests seeking privacy.
- Church of San Michele: This historic church is another of Guarene’s treasures. Dating back to the 13th century, it has an elegant façade and an interior richly decorated with religious art.
- Historic centre: Wander through Guarene’s old streets for a picturesque walk among traditional stone houses, local shops and a welcoming atmosphere.
