Example: a week in the Langhe with friends from Iceland

The first contact came through a simple email:
“Siamo 6-8 coppie interessate a un gourmet wine-bike trip in Piemonte.”

From that moment, an incredible journey began, lasting almost two years of exchanges and planning. In the end, here’s the perfect vacation we created for them:

  • 2 nights in an estate in Monferrato, with spa and winery
  • 5 nights in a boutique hotel beneath the Castle of Grinzane
  • daily bike tours through Langhe and Roero, with a local guide
  • top wine tastings: Gaja, Vietti, as well as family-run wineries
  • First experience with white truffle (including a truffle hunt in the woods!)
  • Lunches in traditional osterias and Michelin-starred dinners

Week in heaven made possible by Claudia

We just came back to Iceland after a wonderful week in Piedmont. The group consisted of 5 couples. I had researched tour organizers in the area and soon I discovered Slowdays! I contacted Claudia in the spring and the dialogue started and Claudia spent a lot of time and effort trying to understand our needs and expectations. I have to say the trip was perfect for everyone in the group. Claudia was spot on in every aspect, (even the bus was great). The hotels were wonderful, small personal boutique hotels with great views of the vineyards. The restaurants fantastic ranging from local restaurants to the best in Piedmont. We highly recommend the truffle hunt and the truffle fair! Highly recommend the cheese whisperer and the visit to the local farmer. We did bike tours on e-bikes and I have to say it was a good choice to select the e-bikes. You can see so much more by covering more distances and the guide Riccardo was excellent. We also did wine tasting :). And I would recommend smaller wineries, the bigger ones tend to be more commercial. We met Claudia and her mother at the truffle hunt a very likeable person and she is really good at understanding the customers needs and mixing together different activities. For us the trip was like a symphony that started slowly and modestly but during its lifespan it grew stronger, faster, bolder and ended in a big climax in the end 🙂 (for us it was the dinner at La Ciau del Tornavento, beautiful house and wine cellar, great food, in our opinion the best restaurant in the trip). Thank you so much Clauda and hopefully we’ll see you soon!

Two weeks through Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato: a tailor-made active holiday for friends from Alaska

It’s not just a vacation. It’s a slow immersion into the heart of Piedmont. A group of friends decided to enjoy two full weeks in the Langhe and Monferrato. Here’s how:

  • Departure and return from Alba
  • First stop: Barolo and Barbaresco with visits and tastings
  • Days alternating between more challenging rides and slow-paced days
  • Second stop: Alta Langa and the giant benches
  • Third stop: Roero, with lesser-known wines and surprising landscapes
  • Fourth stop: Nizza Monferrato and the UNESCO Barbera hills
  • Daily flexibility: easy returns, gourmet breaks, and stops in charming villages

An adventure on two wheels, blending shared effort and moments of pure pleasure. Why was it such a memorable vacation? Because they wanted to repeat it with their friends!

And here’s what they said about their holiday:

AMAZING SERVICE!

My wife and I did a 3 week bike trip in Northern Italy we visited; Alba, Barolo, Novello, Monforte d’Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Treiso, Benevello, Manera, Bra, Slauzzo, Cortemilia, Acqui Terme, Pollenzo, Racconigi, Barbaresco and Turin, Claudia setup EVERYTHING from the time we arrived at the airport until the time we were dropped off 21 days later. Claudia setup all the hotels, bike rental, transfers, and restaurants. All the hotels were modern and clean with large comfortable sleeping areas and nice big bathrooms. The e-bikes were the latest models (they still had the factory stickers on them) . Our luggage was transfers from one hotel to the next and was waiting in our room when we arrived after biking all day. Claudia managed to get us reservations at Piazza Duomo in Alba which is a Michelin 3 star restaurant rated number 15 in the world! She had amazing restaurant recommendations for all the other towns we visited as well, Claudia also setup an amazing cooking class and wine tastings. We visited a hazelnut factory (private tour) that included an fabulous lunch! On one of the days that we did not want to ride our bikes Claudia’s husband Roberto picked us up and delivered us to our next stop! This type of service is unheard of! I would recommend Slowdays to anyone wanting a one stop shop for all your travel plans! Thank you for making our vacation one we will never forget. The Perry’s

All You Need to Know Before You Ride

Do I need to be fit?
No, e-bikes offer great support, but you should still be somewhat comfortable riding a bike.

Can I have a guide?
Yes, upon request, we work with expert, friendly, knowledgeable guides who speak English!

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 5–6 months ahead for a multi-day, tailor-made trip. If you choose to combine a few day tours to create your vacation, contacting us 3–4 weeks in advance is usually enough, but a bit more time is needed during high season.

How much does it cost?
Every tour is customized. The price depends on the duration, number of people, and services included.
