90-minute horseback ride, final lunch or dinner

FORMULA A INCLUDES:

  • 90-minute horseback ride with an instructor
  • Lunch or dinner. Tasting menu. Wines are not included.

How Long: Half Day

Organizing your Tour: You will receive a schedule with the addresses and times of the booked tours. You are expected to show up on time, and the vendors with whom the experiences have been arranged will meet you.

You will walk and ride through forests and over hill ridges, with no asphalt and no roads with vehicles.

It is a true oasis of peace where you can completely disconnect from everyday life for one day and immerse yourself in nature and the silence of these unspoiled places.

The experience consists of 2 moments.

For this tour, the horseback ride will typically be in the afternoon. The experience lasts 90 minutes and always begins with a brief introduction in the stables, where you will be shown some basic rules and can start to familiarize yourself with the animals. The experience is, in fact, also suitable for absolute beginners, and the time of the introductory part will depend precisely on your expertise or inclination toward the horse and its world.

Very experienced instructors will accompany you throughout the walk in the woods; depending on your group size, you may be joined by other participants.

The itinerary is exceptional indeed! We will follow part of the path mentioned in Beppe Fenoglio’s novel “Il partigiano Johnny,” passed by Cascina Baracchi, also cited by the great Langhe writer and Cascina Pavaglione, where the Museum of the Resistance is located.

The horseback ride will end again at the stables.

The second moment, obviously food and wine, can never be missed! A full dinner includes an appetizer, a first course, a second course, and a dessert (wines not included).

The riding school where you will have the horseback riding experience and the restaurant are not in the same facility. It takes about 20 minutes to move with your cars.

Horseback riding, wine tasting in the winery, relaxation in the Spa

FORMULA B has two possible versions that INCLUDE:

  • One-hour horseback ride with instructor
  • Visit and wine tasting at a Langhe winery with a cutting board

or

  • Snack with charcuterie and cheese board and a plate of mixed appetizers. House wine included
  • 90-minute spa entrance

How Long: Half Day

The horseback ride lasts an hour and always begins with a brief introduction in the stables, where you will be shown some basic rules and can start to familiarize yourself with the animals. The experience is, in fact, also suitable for absolute beginners, and the time of the introductory part will depend precisely on your expertise or inclination toward the horse and its world.

The choice between a visit to the winery or a snack in the Osteria will be made when booking.

Very experienced instructors will accompany you throughout the walk in the woods; depending on your group size, you may be joined by other participants.

We thought we would continue our “slow day” with another activity that will allow you to discover the extraordinary wines of the Langhe. After your ride, you will drive to a beautiful winery in the Langhe for a winery tour and a rich tasting of all the fine wines of the Langhe. The tasting will accompany platters of cured meats, cheeses, and other appetizers made from typical products.

But it’s not over yet! After the sports, food, and wine “exertions,” we think ending it all with relaxation in a beautiful spa with a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, and Jacuzzi is ideal. An elegant, well-kept environment with ample relaxation space available. 90-minute admission included.

The riding stables where you will have your horseback riding experience, the winery, and the Spa are not in the same facility (you will have to travel by car about 20 minutes from one place to the other).

Ottima! Ho avuto a che fare con Claudia di slowdays per ben due volte. Una gita in Vespa nelle Langhe e una gita in cavallo con pranzo in Alta Langa. Entrambe sono state bellissime! Claudia è super disponibile anche negli imprevisti:) E i gestori delle attività sono tutti molto cordiali e gentili. Consiglio vivamente a tutti queste esperienze! Grazie mille!!

Grazie Claudia!

Why is it good to approach the world of horses?

Getting in tune with a horse is an almost magical experience. It is unique and capable of creating intense and unforgettable emotions. The horse is a noble, sensitive animal endowed with remarkable intelligence that can read and interpret human body language. When approaching a horse, you are immersed in silent communication of glances, movements, and small gestures that create a deep and instinctive bond. A connection is established based on mutual trust, where the animal becomes a companion for adventure, not just a means of transport.

This complicity conveys a sense of peace and well-being, helping the rider relax and disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle. Horses teach us to be present in the moment, to breathe deeply, and to let ourselves be guided by their natural rhythm. They are masters of patience and sensitivity and can give the rider a feeling of freedom and harmony that is hard to find elsewhere.

How to Make the Most of a Horseback Ride, a Slow Experience

To best enjoy the experience of horse riding, it is essential to approach the animal with serenity and respect. Here are some tips for getting the most out of this adventure:

  1. Relax and breathe: Before riding, take a moment to relax and breathe deeply. Horses are susceptible to human emotions and can sense our state of mind. A calm and open mind will help establish a good connection right away.
  2. Listen to the instructor’s instructions: Experienced instructors know how best to guide you through each step of the experience. Follow their advice carefully, especially if you are a beginner. They will help you feel more confident and interact with the horse correctly.
  3. Adopt a respectful attitude: The horse is a living being with emotions and personality. Learn to respect its space, observe its reactions, and always be gentle with your movements and gestures. This attitude will help you gain its trust.
  4. Let yourself be carried away by the landscape. A horseback ride is also an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding nature. The Langhe, with its breathtaking views, shady woods, and rolling hills, is the ideal place to immerse yourself completely in the silence and beauty of the area. Let yourself be lulled by the horse’s rhythm and enjoy the journey without hurry.
  5. Get in tune with the horse: Try to find the right balance between your body and the horse’s movement while riding. Feeling the harmony of his pace, following his rhythms, and adapting your posture will give you a sense of symbiosis and union, making the experience even more authentic.

Approaching the world of horses means approaching a dimension of calm, contact with nature, and a deep connection with a wonderful animal. An experience that enriches and leaves an indelible memory in the heart of those who live it.
