HOW TO USE YOUR VOUCHER AND BOOK YOUR EXPERIENCE
SlowDays is a tour operator based in Piedmont, in the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato areas.
You have received a SlowBox gift voucher for one or more days of experiences. Our experiences are private, rather than scheduled group departures: there are no fixed departure dates, and you can request to take part on weekdays or weekends, within the voucher’s validity period and subject to availability.
- How can I use it? Email claudia@slowdays.it with your preferred date and order number. We will check availability and arrange your experiences.
- When can I use it? Your voucher is valid for one year, and its expiry date is printed on the voucher. Please book at least 15 days before your preferred date for day tours and at least one month in advance for tours that include an overnight stay. For peak season, from mid-September to mid-November, we recommend booking at least 60 days in advance, especially if accommodation is included.
- You do not need to present the voucher: simply include the order number, consisting of the # symbol followed by five digits, in your booking request.
SlowDays offers gift vouchers, called SlowBox, for specific tours available on the website at the time of purchase. The person buying the voucher is the purchaser; the person receiving and redeeming it is the voucher holder.
FURTHER INFORMATION
- Validity: Vouchers are valid for one year from the purchase date. Due to the seasonal opening periods of most local providers, they can be used for experiences taking place between March 15 and November 15 each year, before the expiry date shown on the voucher.
- Using your voucher: Email claudia@slowdays.it, stating that you are the voucher holder and providing your order number and preferred date. You will receive a quotation with details of the tour purchased. You can confirm the proposed tour and date or request changes. Once you accept the quotation, your booking will be subject to the same terms, including cancellation conditions, as standard packages purchased through our website. A date change requested after confirmation is treated as a cancellation. Rescheduling may be arranged subject to availability and any additional charges applicable to the package.
- Date changes due to bad weather: For vouchers covering outdoor activities only, you may request to reschedule under the bad weather clause (*). If your tour includes an overnight stay, the entire tour cannot be rescheduled for this reason. Alternative or equivalent activities may be agreed upon to replace the outdoor activities, or the tour may be split across different dates so that you can enjoy all included services.
- Date changes due to force majeure: In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, documented illness (**) or serious family circumstances, the voucher holder may request to reschedule the tour. After consulting the providers involved, SlowDays will confirm the rescheduling costs, which may include administration fees and non-refundable prepaid services. These costs will not exceed the total purchase price of the voucher. The holder may accept the new dates by paying the specified charges. If they do not wish to book another date, they may request a refund for the tour, less the same costs. The refund will be paid to the original voucher purchaser.
- Changing participants: Up to four days before the tour starts, the voucher holder may request to change the named participants. SlowDays reserves the right to approve the request after checking that all included services can be provided to the new participants, taking their individual characteristics and requirements into account (***).
- Choosing a different tour: When redeeming the voucher, the holder may choose a different tour from the one originally gifted. SlowDays will confirm the amount paid for the voucher, which can be used towards any other tour available on the website. Once the new booking is confirmed, the standard terms for SlowDays packages will apply, including cancellation conditions.
- Extending the expiry date: You may request a one-year extension from the original expiry date by paying 20% of the voucher’s value, with a minimum fee of €20 per voucher. Alternatively, you may arrange an extension beyond the original one-year validity period by email, without a guarantee of retaining the same experience with the same number and standard of services. Under this second option, we will agree upon an experience of equal value to the voucher, whether or not it is listed in our catalog.
POSSIBLE CHANGES BY SLOWDAYS
SlowDays aims to maintain the experiences as described at the time of purchase throughout the voucher’s validity period. However, the following circumstances may arise:
- Tour changes. If a tour needs to change due to circumstances such as a provider becoming unavailable, SlowDays will seek an equivalent replacement, which will be proposed and explained when the voucher is redeemed.
- Experiences no longer available. If one or more experiences are canceled and cannot be replaced directly, SlowDays will propose alternatives of equal value and a similar type, always subject to the voucher holder’s approval.
- Tour price increases. SlowDays covers any price increase up to 10% of the voucher’s value. The voucher holder pays only the difference exceeding this allowance. For example, if the voucher is worth €100 and the new tour price is €130, the additional payment will be €20.
- Peak season. From mid-September to mid-November, prices may increase and voucher availability may be limited, for example because accommodation is fully booked. The provisions in point 3 apply to price increases. We recommend booking at least 60 days in advance, especially for vouchers that include an overnight stay. Experience availability is not guaranteed. If SlowDays considers that it cannot deliver the service to the expected quality standards, it may propose alternatives.
SlowDays will always uphold the quality of its providers and the experiences published on its website. These conditions are intended to preserve service quality, ensure fair compensation for providers and support the continued operation of the business.
(*) Bad weather: Outdoor activities include e-bike, Vespa, horseback riding and hiking tours. SlowDays uses forecasts from the Italian Air Force weather service, Meteo Aeronautica, as its reference. A forecast probability of rain of 50% or higher, assessed 48 hours before the scheduled date, allows the tour to be rescheduled at no cost to the customer. If bad weather prevents the experience from taking place, we will contact you the day before, when forecasts are more reliable, to agree on a new date, alternative activities or a partial refund. This condition applies only to experiences for which weather conditions are essential. It does not apply to overnight stays or indoor experiences, even when combined with outdoor activities. Please contact us by email to discuss specific circumstances.
(**) Documented illness: Provide a medical certificate confirming the illness.
(***) Checking new participants’ requirements: Before approving a substitution, we may need to check participants’ height for bike allocation, serious allergies or intolerances, age for Vespa tours and any other factors that may affect the successful delivery of the tour.
