How to Get the Most Out of a Horseback Ride: A “Slow” Experience
First Time Horseback Riding? A Few Useful Tips
To enjoy the ride, simply approach the horse calmly, follow the guide’s instructions and allow yourself to move at the animal’s pace. No previous experience is required: both the route and the horse are also selected according to the participants’ level.
Is the ride suitable for beginners?
Yes. The experience begins with a short introduction at the riding center, during which the guide explains how to approach the horse, get into the saddle and behave along the route.
What should I wear?
We recommend long, comfortable trousers and closed shoes with a stable sole. Sandals, flip-flops, heels and clothing that may restrict movement should be avoided. Depending on the season, it is also useful to bring a light or waterproof jacket.
Is a helmet provided?
Yes, the helmet is provided by the riding center and must be worn throughout the activity.
How long does the experience actually last?
The stated duration includes the initial preparation and the guided ride. It is therefore advisable to allow a little extra time in addition to the minutes actually spent in the saddle.
Can I take part if I feel nervous or lack confidence?
Yes, but it is important to let us know before confirmation. This allows us to check with the riding center which route and horse are most suitable.
What happens in case of bad weather?
The activity’s feasibility will be assessed together with the riding center. If conditions do not allow the ride to take place safely, a different time, a new date, or a suitable alternative will be proposed.
Why Is It So Special to Discover the World of Horses?
Connecting with a horse means discovering a different way of communicating, built on trust, awareness, and small gestures.
The horse’s rhythm helps you slow down, focus on the present and leave the rush of everyday life behind. It is more than just a ride: it is an encounter that can bring a sense of well-being, freedom and a special connection with nature.
Let the Horse’s Rhythm Guide You
Before getting into the saddle, slow down. Breathe, listen to the guide’s instructions and approach the horse calmly and respectfully.
During the ride, do not worry about “getting everything right”: follow the horse’s pace, take in the landscape and allow the rhythm of the experience to replace the rush of everyday life.
This is what makes a day on horseback in the Langhe so special: connecting with the animal, moving through nature in silence, and giving yourself the time to experience the journey truly.
