Barolo, Barbaresco, selected wineries, leisurely lunches, breathtaking views and carefully chosen wines. Our wine tours are not a rush from one tasting to the next, but experiences designed to discover the Langhe through wine, food and the right encounters.
Langhe wine tour: not just tastings, but a territory to discover at a slower pace
A well-chosen winery is worth more than three running tastings

Every wine tour begins with the right balance: a carefully selected winery, a leisurely lunch, a beautiful view and a tasting that fits naturally into the day.
For us, wine is the common thread—not a checklist of stops.
A tasting, lunch, scenery and time: the right pace makes all the difference.
The experiences below are starting points: you can choose them as they are or combine them to create the experience that best suits the way you like to travel.

Wine as the theme of a holiday in the Langhe
When we talk about wine tours, we don’t think of them as just a tasting at a winery. For us, wine can become the thread that connects a weekend, an e-bike ride, a walk through the hills or a Vespa day with lunch. The way you reach the glass may change, but the goal remains the same: to experience the region at a slower pace.
When to plan your winery visit in the Langhe
Spring
The vines spring back to life, the days grow longer, and the wineries are quieter. It is a wonderful time for a wine tour with lunch, a gentle walk or a first day in the Langhe without the crowds of the busiest months. In spring, you can also attend Vinum, Alba’s spring wine fair, and taste the newly bottled wines.
Summer
It is best not to plan too much during the hottest hours of the day. Experiences that work particularly well include lunch at a winery, scenic stops, Vespa rides, morning e-bike tours or a tour with a private driver, allowing you to enjoy the day at an easier pace. You could take advantage of our farmhouse weekend with a swimming pool, alternating wine tastings with time to relax.
Autumn
This is the best-known season, with the grape harvest, autumn foliage, truffles, and outstanding red wines. It is beautiful but also extremely popular: for Barolo and Barbaresco tours, winery lunches, and food-and-wine weekends, book well in advance. If you visit in autumn for a wine tour, I recommend pairing it with a truffle hunt. Pairing a glass of wine with a truffle dish is a truly exceptional experience!
winter
Wineries become more intimate, and important wines come into their own. It is the perfect season for slow lunches, small-group tastings, gourmet weekends and quieter days. There are countless excellent local food-and-wine pairings. Take a look at our Guide page dedicated to local food and wine.
Which is the right winery to visit in the Langhe?
There is no single answer that works for everyone. Some people dream of a historic winery, others prefer a small family-run producer; some look for a leisurely lunch among the vineyards, while others want to discover Barolo or learn more about Barbaresco.
Our role is to help you choose the winery that best suits the kind of experience you want to enjoy, without creating an overpacked day that only looks good on paper. Sometimes one visit, enjoyed at the right pace, can tell you far more than three tastings scheduled one after another.
Barolo and Barbaresco: two different ways of understanding the Langhe
Although both wines come from the same grape, Barolo and Barbaresco stand apart for their subtle differences in taste. Barolo, with its longer aging period, shows greater power, while Barbaresco, with a slightly shorter refinement period, offers a more immediate elegance.
Barolo and Barbaresco are both made from Nebbiolo, but they express different landscapes and atmospheres.
Barolo leads you towards more dramatic hills, historic wineries, small producers and deep, often more structured wines. It is ideal for anyone seeking a story-rich day filled with encounters, lunch at a winery and tastings that help reveal the importance of tradition.
Barbaresco offers a different kind of elegance: more intimate landscapes, open views, the Tower and the hills between Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso. It is perfect for anyone looking for a gentler, more scenic and refined wine tour.
In both cases, the aim is not to taste as many wines as possible. What matters is choosing the right stops and giving the day enough time to tell its story.
