Horseback riding in the Langhe: nature, food & wine in the heart of Piedmont
Our horseback rides in the Langhe are a wonderful idea for a truly original day.
We are in the unspoiled nature of the Alta Langa, where the last vineyards give way to forests and pastures. It’s the perfect environment for our horses — and for anyone who wants a real connection with nature.
Exploring the Langhe on horseback is an unforgettable experience that brings together everything that makes this part of Piedmont special: beautiful landscapes, great food, outstanding wines, and the unique bond you create with a horse.
We offer three different options, designed for couples, friends, or small groups who want a calm day focused on discovery and relaxation.
IDEAL FOR
- Couples
- Friends and groups (usually no more than 12 people)
- Small teams/companies for a light incentive experience
Choose your option
Option A - Horseback ride + Lunch or Dinner
90-minute horseback ride, followed by lunch or dinner
What’s included:
- 90-minute guided horseback ride with instructor, starting from 10:30 am
- Lunch with a full tasting menu. Wines included
You will walk and ride through forests and along hill ridges — no asphalt, no traffic.
A true oasis of peace, where you can completely disconnect from daily life and immerse yourself in nature and silence.
The experience includes two moments.
First, the horseback ride, which lasts 90 minutes and always begins with a short introduction at the stables. You’ll learn a few essential rules and start getting familiar with the horses. This experience is suitable for complete beginners: the introductory part will simply adapt to your confidence and experience. Expert instructors will guide you throughout the ride in the woods; depending on the size of your group, you may be paired with other participants.
The second moment is a complete traditional meal at an osteria not far from the stables (reachable by car): starter, first course, main course, dessert (house wine included).
On request, or if there is no morning availability, we can propose an afternoon version with a horseback ride in the afternoon and dinner in Alba or nearby. In this case, the price may vary slightly at the quote stage.
Option B - Horseback ride + Lunch + SPA
90-minute horseback ride, lunch at a local osteria, and spa time
What’s included:
- 90-minute guided horseback ride with instructor
- Lunch at a traditional osteria, wine included
- 90-minute spa access
The horseback ride lasts 90 minutes and always begins with a short introduction at the stables, where you’ll learn a few essential rules and start getting familiar with the horses. This experience is suitable for complete beginners: the introductory part will adapt to your confidence and experience.
Expert instructors will guide you throughout the ride in the woods; depending on the size of your group, you may be paired with other participants.
We designed this “slowday” to continue with a delicious food & wine moment: a wonderful lunch at a local osteria (not far from the stables), including a small board of cured meats and cheeses on arrival with a welcome glass, a selection of typical starters, a first course, and dessert. House wine included.
And it doesn’t end there. After nature and good food, the perfect finale is some relaxation in a beautiful spa with Finnish sauna, steam bath and whirlpool. An elegant, well-kept environment with generous relaxation areas. 90-minute access included.
The stables, the osteria and the spa are not in the same place (you will need to drive — about 5 minutes from the stables to the osteria and around 20 minutes to reach the spa).
Option C - Horseback ride + Winery tasting
90-minute horseback ride and a winery tasting in the Langhe
What’s included:
- 90-minute guided horseback ride with instructor
- Visit and tasting at a winery in the Langhe
The horseback ride lasts 90 minutes and always begins with a short introduction at the stables, where you’ll learn a few essential rules and start getting familiar with the horses. This experience is suitable for complete beginners: the introductory part will adapt to your confidence and experience.
Expert instructors will guide you throughout the ride in the woods; depending on the size of your group, you may be paired with other participants.
We designed this “slowday” to continue with another highlight of the Langhe: its wines. After your ride, you will drive to a beautiful winery for a guided visit and a generous tasting of local wines, paired with boards of cured meats, cheeses and other local bites.
The stables and the winery are not in the same place (you will need to drive — about 20 minutes).
This experience can be scheduled in the morning or early afternoon.

Why is it so meaningful to connect with horses?
Finding harmony with a horse can feel almost magical — a unique experience that can leave you with intense, unforgettable emotions. The horse is a noble and sensitive animal, with a special kind of intelligence: it reads and interprets human body language. When you get close to a horse, you step into a silent form of communication made of looks, movements and small gestures that create a deep, instinctive bond. Trust grows naturally, and the horse becomes a companion — not simply a means of transport.
This connection brings a sense of peace and well-being, helping you relax and detach from everyday rush. Horses teach us to be present, to breathe deeply and to follow a more natural rhythm. They are masters of patience and sensitivity, and they can give riders a feeling of freedom and harmony that is hard to find elsewhere.
How to enjoy a horseback ride at its best — a truly Slow experience
To fully enjoy a horseback ride, it helps to approach the horse with calmness and respect. Here are a few tips to make the experience even better:
- Relax and breathe: Before getting in the saddle, take a moment to slow down and breathe deeply. Horses are very sensitive to human emotions and quickly sense our mood. A calm and open mindset helps create an immediate connection.
- Follow your instructor’s guidance: Experienced instructors know how to support you at every step. Listen carefully — especially if you’re a beginner. You’ll feel safer and you’ll enjoy the ride more.
- Be respectful: A horse is a living being with emotions and a personality. Respect its space, observe its reactions and move gently. This is the best way to earn trust and experience a real connection.
- Let the landscape carry you: A horseback ride is also about the nature around you. The Langhe, with their wide views, quiet woods and rolling hills, are perfect for slowing down and enjoying the beauty of the territory. Let yourself be guided by the horse’s rhythm — without rushing.
- Find harmony with the horse: During the ride, try to match your posture to the horse’s movement. Feeling the rhythm of its steps and adapting naturally creates a sense of balance and connection that makes everything more authentic.
Approaching the world of horses means entering a calmer dimension: nature, presence, and a deep connection with a wonderful animal. An experience that enriches you — and stays with you.
